Improve Dealls Jobs Website Appearance
When redesigning the Dealls Jobs (YC W22) website, there were several steps that my projects team and I took to ensure that the new design would improve user experience (UX), functionality, and aesthetics.
Here are the steps I took during the redesign of the Dealls Jobs website:
Analysis and Evaluation of the Old Website
– Content and Structure Audit: Evaluate the existing content to ensure the information displayed is relevant and up-to-date.
– Identifying UX Issues: Identifying problems in user experience, such as confusing navigation or non-responsive design elements.
– Website Performance Analysis: Checking the speed and performance of the old website to identify areas that need improvement.Defining Design Goals and Objectives
– Business Goals: Determining the objectives to be achieved through the redesign, such as increasing conversions, reducing bounce rates, or improving Dealls Jobs' branding.
– Target Audience: Understanding the target users, including their needs, preferences, and pain points.
– Functional Requirements: Defining new features or functions that need to be included, such as a search filter, job search system, saved jobs feature, job registration system, or user dashboard.Research and Design Inspiration
– Competitor Analysis: Analyzing competitor websites to gain insights into effective and innovative design trends.
– Collecting Inspiration: Gathering design references from various sources, such as Behance, Dribbble, Awwwards, or other design websites.Visual Design
– Choosing Color Palette and Typography: Selecting colors and fonts that align with Dealls Jobs' brand identity and design objectives.
– Visual Hierarchy: Determining which visual elements should attract the user's attention, such as call-to-action (CTA) buttons, main images, and banners.
– Responsiveness: Ensuring the design adapts well to different screen sizes (desktop, tablet, and mobile).Testing and Iteration
– User Experience Testing (UX): Conducting user testing with real users to identify potential issues and gather feedback from prospective users.
– Iteration: Adapting and refining the design based on testing results and feedback.Implementation and Development
– Collaboration with Dev. Teams: Working closely with the web development team to ensure the design is accurately translated into code.
– System Integration: Ensuring that all necessary functions and features (such as contact forms, payment systems, etc.) work seamlessly.Launch and Monitoring
– Launch: Once the design is finalized and tested, the new Dealls Jobs website will be launched to the public.
– Performance Monitoring: Monitoring the website's performance post-launch, including speed, user interactions, and conversions.
– Ongoing Maintenance: Performing regular updates and bug fixes (if any issues are found) to keep the website relevant and efficient.
